PowerRebuild 1.1 Manual

Installation

Installation is quite simple.

Extract the distribution and preserve the directories. The directories that have been extracted correspond to the directories in your Movable Type installation. Therefore upload all the files into a directory called PowerRebuild under MT_DIR/plugins. Your final hierarchy should look thus:

MT_DIR/
|__ plugins/
| \__ PowerRebuild/
| |__ powerrebuild.pl
| |__ rebuilding_what.tmpl
| |__ rebuilt_what.tmpl

If the plugin was successfully installed, you should see something similar to this on the Plugins listing under System Overview.

Usage

Usage is also equally simple.

  1. Navigate to the item listing, for example, the weblogs listing in system overview or the comments listing.
  2. Select the items you wish to rebuild by checking the box at the start of the row.
  3. Choose Rebuild from the drop down menu and press Go (as shown by the screenshot below).

I'm wondering if you have any plans to update powerrebuild for MT4. I could really use it. If you ask me, it's the missing feature for the software for those of us running our sites with static pages. MT4 works so well as a CMS, but with multiple blogs, and with blogs sharing template data, it is important to be able to do a one click re-build so that template changes can ripple efficiency. Thanks!
